Show Me Your…

We’ve found yet another Owen Student to open their bag and show you what’s inside. Today’s victim volunteer is Aaron Fung. Aaron is an MBA student in the class of 2012 and is concentrating in finance.

Aaron’s bag shares some similarities with mine seeing as we are both finance concentrators, but Aaron also has several gems of individuality packed in. Check it:

  1. Tumi Alpha T-Pass Expandable Laptop Brief – I used to use a backpack…until the shoulder strap popped off. (I wonder why)
  2. Dell Inspiron – Notice the power cord currently plugged in. Very key to always have my power cord.
  3. Apple iPad (the original, not the new fancy one) – I mainly have this for the entertainment value of movies on the road, games, and apps for news – but I also have my 6-volume set of CFA study books on here
  4. Wireless Mouse – vital, considering how much I’m on my laptop.
  5. iPhone – pick your poison. I chose Apple.
  6. External Battery pack for said iPhone/iPad – Helpful for a long school day and really handy for flights to New York or road trips.
  7. HP 12C Financial Calculator – the standard device for a finance concentrator. Doug has a TI BA II. Most students have one or the other.
  8. Glassesit would really suck to have blurry vision, wouldn’t it?
  9. Klean Kanteen – NetImpact would be proud…I hope.
  10. Business Cards – Never leave home without them. Although, I wish I had not gone with the overpriced business card holder I bought from the bookstore.
  11. Nametag – I don’t go to a recruiting event without this. It’s handy and absolutely vital.
  12. Spork – Yes, I am a dork and I have a spork. No, that was not supposed to rhyme. You would not believe me if I told you how often I use it.
  13. Pens, Pencils, Highlighters – giveaways from recruiters are an easy way to get more. Especially 3M who gave us the wicked cool pen/highlighter/sticky tab combo device.
  14. Umbrella – Tornadoes, sunshine, rainstorm, cloudy. That was one four day stretch here in Nashville recently. Everyone should definitely keep one of these in your locker or bag.
  15. Clif Bar – Emergency energy is always a good thing to keep on hand in case I’m running late or don’t want to eat Wendy’s for the fourth time this week.
  16. A paper a classmate gave me
  17. Information about classes I’m planning on taking at Peabody College (Vandy’s #1 ranked School of Education)
  18. A parking ticket I just got and totally did not deserve – Remember that the parking lot behind Sweet Cece’s requires you to get a receipt to avoid a fine!
  19. A Snapple bottle cap – A memento which serves as a reminder to appreciate every day.
  20. Checkbook and notebook - I misplaced the #20 in the picture, it is supposed to be a little further south (oops). I need my checkbook for club dues, events, etc. And a flash drive is always useful. Always.
  21. A coupon good for one free drink at Starbucks – I earned this by buying way too much coffee.
  22. Gum – see #21.

About Doug Midkiff

I’m really good at Excel. I’m also a Texan, which seems to be a trend among OwenBloggers these days (you can’t stop us, you can only hope to contain us). After graduating from Texas, (Hook’em) I spent four years as a financial analyst before finding my way to Owen where I’m concentrating in finance with an emphasis on real estate. I love my wife, indie coffee shops, disc golf, soccer, web comics, Google maps, urbanism, sustainability, and warm weather.

  1. Haywood Rosebur says:

Full color cards, or cards that use many colors, are printed on sheetfed presses as well; however, they use the CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) four-color printing process. Screens of each color overprinted on one another create a wide gamut of color. The downside to this printing method is that screened colors if examined closely will reveal tiny dots, whereas spot color cards are printed solid in most cases. Spot colors should be used for simple cards with line art or non-black type that is smaller than 5 points.-
