2011 Economist Business School Rankings

The Economist released their new Full-Time business school rankings yesterday. You can check out the full list here.

Owen was a HUGE winner in this new ranking. Globally we jumped 12 spots from 46 to 34.

Looking at just the US schools we jumped 7 spots from 29 to 22. No other US school had as big a jump.

As we all know, these rankings have myriad flaws, but the fact that Owen was able to make such a big jump in the positive direction tells me we must be doing something right. According to the Economist, our strongest attributes are:

Diversity of Recruiters (4th place)
Education Experience (7th place)
Faculty Quality (8th place)
Alumni Effectiveness (8th place)

I created a US only top 30 which you can see below. I did this to give a better “apples to apples” comparison ability with some of the other rankings which only rank US schools (Business Week, US News):

About Doug Midkiff

I’m really good at Excel. I’m also a Texan, which seems to be a trend among OwenBloggers these days (you can’t stop us, you can only hope to contain us). After graduating from Texas, (Hook’em) I spent four years as a financial analyst before finding my way to Owen where I’m concentrating in finance with an emphasis on real estate. I love my wife, indie coffee shops, disc golf, soccer, web comics, Google maps, urbanism, sustainability, and warm weather.
